Las Vegas drivers may face slick roads and reduced visibility this weekend as scattered thunderstorms linger through late Sunday. Travel across I-15 and major surface streets could be slowed by brief heavy rain and localized flooding. Motorists are urged to allow extra time and avoid driving through standing water.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through late Sunday, with rain chances tapering after 2 a.m. Monday. Winds will remain light, but downpours could reduce visibility across Clark County. A high near 88 degrees is expected Saturday and Sunday before skies begin to clear.

Sunday brings scattered showers before 10 a.m., followed by drier conditions and mostly clear skies into Sunday night. By Monday, skies will turn partly cloudy with highs around 87. The week ahead looks calmer, with sunshine dominating and temperatures holding steady in the upper 80s.

While this weekend’s rain could be disruptive, October may begin on a warmer, drier note. Forecasters expect sunshine and steady highs in the upper 80s to welcome the new month. That pattern could keep energy demand high and increase fire danger across dry desert landscapes.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates, especially if storms redevelop along the I-15 corridor or near Red Rock Canyon. The weather service notes additional advisories could be issued if rainfall intensifies.
