Goldfield, NV – A dangerous stretch of triple-digit heat will grip Esmeralda, Central Nye, and Lincoln counties from late Monday morning through 9 p.m., raising the risk of heat illness across central Nevada.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with afternoon valley temperatures expected to reach between 100 and 110 degrees. Communities like Goldfield, Beatty, Alamo, Caliente, and Pioche will be among the hardest hit, especially in low-lying and urban areas.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activities during peak afternoon heat. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends frequent breaks in shade or air conditioning for those who must work outside. Lightweight clothing, hydration, and regular wellness checks on vulnerable neighbors can prevent dangerous heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Emergency crews are on alert as local hospitals and cooling centers prepare for a surge in heat-related illnesses, similar to previous July heat events. High temperatures can impact power grids, outdoor recreation, and travel along U.S. 95, U.S. 6, and Nevada Route 375.

Heat advisories remain in effect until 9 p.m. Monday, with updates possible if conditions worsen. Monitor local alerts and check on those without reliable cooling.
