Las Vegas, Nev. – Scattered thunderstorms could disrupt weekend plans across Southern Nevada as monsoon moisture lingers through Sunday. Afternoon storms may trigger localized flooding, especially in low-lying areas and along busy corridors like I-15.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, storm chances rise to 30 percent Saturday and Sunday, mainly after 11 a.m. Highs will remain in the mid-80s to upper 80s, slightly below seasonal averages but humid air may make it feel warmer.

Drivers in Clark County should watch for sudden downpours that reduce visibility and cause ponding on roads. The Las Vegas Valley, along with surrounding areas like Henderson and North Las Vegas, face the highest risk of brief but strong storms through the weekend. Winds will remain light, but gusty conditions are possible near thunderstorm cells.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid flooded intersections, and have alternate travel plans. While rainfall totals won’t be widespread, even isolated storms can trigger flash flooding in washes and desert terrain.

Showers taper off Sunday night, with drier weather returning by Monday. Afternoon highs will climb back into the upper 80s, and skies will trend sunnier by midweek.
