LAS VEGAS — Shoppers looking for bargains may find some of the deepest discounts at Las Vegas outlet malls in the weeks leading up to spring break.
Many retailers and even hotels offer heavy promotions and sales before spring break to clear winter stock. Outlet malls’ business models rely on clearing excess stock fast, and sales are an efficient way to do this. Rising costs and lower tourism numbers have prompted retailers to use discounts to attract more visitors. Following a sharp 7.5% decline in visitors last year, this year the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at the University of Nevada forecasts that the state will see an increase of 2.4% in visitors in 2026.
Retailers like outlet malls are anticipating increased shoppers for Spring and onwards by clearing stock fast. The robust lineup of conventions in spring, like the CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Shoptalk Spring, and the International Pizza Expo, will bring in thousands of visitors during the peak week of spring break.
Already, some resorts are offering discounts to local Nevada residents, like the Strat True Locals program. Program members can get 20% off food and 50% off show tickets.
