LAS VEGAS, NV — Soft clouds hang over the valley this morning, muting the glow of the Strip as a few sprinkles drift across the desert. The pavement still holds the night’s cool, but warmer, drier air waits just behind today’s brief weather hiccup. It’s the kind of pattern that reminds travelers this time of year that even Las Vegas gets a taste of fall’s unpredictability.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a slight chance of showers will linger through the early morning hours, especially along the Spring Mountains and toward Red Rock Canyon. Any rainfall will be light and short-lived. By late morning, skies begin to clear, giving way to highs near 68°F and improving visibility for travelers heading into or out of McCarran International Airport and along I-15.

Sunday through Tuesday brings a stretch of sunny, calm weather, with highs rising into the mid to upper 60s and overnight lows in the mid-40s. Those planning early Thanksgiving travel can expect smooth driving and comfortable flying conditions, with no major systems forecast to affect southern Nevada through the start of the holiday week.

Nationally, however, forecasters are tracking a large cold front forming across the northern U.S. late next week. That system could bring heavy snow and travel delays from the Rockies to the East Coast between November 25th and December 3rd, signaling the first widespread winter weather pattern of the season.

Five-Day Outlook (Las Vegas, NV)

  • Monday: Sunny, high 66°F
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high 64°F
  • Wednesday: Sunny, high 64°F
