LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Mojave sky remains calm and clear early this morning, but change is quietly building to the west. After a bright, warm Thursday, Las Vegas will see its first real taste of unsettled fall weather as rain chances grow late Friday into the weekend—ending one of the driest stretches of November so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Thursday’s sunshine will boost temperatures near 81°F before clouds increase Friday morning. A Pacific system moving inland will pull scattered showers into Clark County by late afternoon, with the best chances Friday night through early Saturday. Light rainfall—around a tenth to a quarter inch—is possible across the valley, with locally heavier bursts near the Spring Mountains.
Travelers along I-15 and U.S. 95 should watch for wet pavement and gusty winds during the evening commute Friday. Outdoor plans, including Veterans Day weekend events, may need quick adjustments as conditions turn damp and cooler. Temperatures will fall nearly 15 degrees between Thursday and Saturday, signaling the region’s gradual slide into late fall.
Saturday will stay mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-60s before a few lingering showers fade Sunday. Another weak system could pass through early next week, reinforcing the cooler air and possibly hinting at an early “winter tease” for the Sierra and high deserts before Thanksgiving week travel begins.
Meanwhile, the rare G4 solar storm that painted faint Northern Lights across much of the U.S. Tuesday night continues to fade this morning, but minor satellite and GPS disruptions remain possible across southern Nevada.
