Las Vegas, NV – Extreme heat will grip the Las Vegas Valley Sunday, with temperatures climbing to 110°F and haze reducing visibility in some areas. The hot stretch is expected to intensify early next week, keeping much of southern Nevada under dangerous conditions for outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s high will be accompanied by light winds in the morning, shifting to a light southwest breeze in the afternoon. By Tuesday, highs are forecast to reach 111°F, with overnight lows holding near 85°F, offering little overnight relief. Outdoor workers, athletes, and those without adequate cooling should take precautions as heat illness risk will be elevated.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor time during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Prolonged exposure to these temperatures can cause heat-related emergencies in minutes.

The current heat wave will likely persist through midweek before showing signs of easing slightly late next week. Additional advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
