LAS VEGAS – Freakling Bros. Horror Shows, one of Las Vegas’s most famous haunted attractions, is closing its doors for the 2025 Halloween season to prepare for a major new chapter.

On Wednesday, the company announced that it will be taking a pause for the 2025 Halloween season to focus on the construction of a “next-level” attraction. The new construction is set to replace that iconic Castle Vampyre which has terrified visitors for more than 30 years.

“We’ve been preparing to replace Castle Vampyre, our most iconic and long-running haunt, and we want to do it right,” said J.T. Mollner, co-owner and creative director of Freakling Bros. “Our fans deserve nothing less than the full Freakling Bros. experience, and we’re excited to deliver a show that is truly horrifying and spectacular in 2026.”

Mollner added that opening the new attraction this year wasn’t possible as he has been focused on the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk, released in September. While this is a loss for fans of the haunted venue and for local tourism this Halloween, the team promises bigger thrills next year.

“Rather than offer a scaled-back show, the team is using the season to build something bigger, bolder, and scarier than ever before,” Mollner said.

Though details are still under wraps, the company did tease a “fully reimagined layout, groundbreaking effects, and chilling new themes,” for 2026.

In the meantime, spooky fun can be experienced at a number of Halloween events spread across the city from early October like AREA15’s brand-new Universal Horror Unleashed and the Parade of Mischief in Downtown Summerlin.
