LAS VEGAS — After holiday grace periods, some municipal and justice courts resume full operations, and failure to meet deadlines can result in penalties.

In Clark County, residents should note that there is no holiday grace period for court fines and tickets. The deadline for court fines will vary depending on the infraction. For example, civil infractions usually have a 90-day deadline from the date the fine was issued. Criminal traffic matters require a payment within five working days of the court appearance date. Failure to pay within the deadlines can result in an arrest warrant.

Specific payment instructions are available on citations through the Las Vegas Justice Court or the Clark County government website. On traffic tickets, there is an “Appearance Date” or “Due Date” which you will need to follow. Currently, online payments can be made via PayPal using debit cards or major credit cards.

The Justice Court does offer a court-approved payment plan with agreed-upon due dates. Payments must be submitted before midnight (Pacific Time) on the due date to be considered paid on time.

Residents unable to pay their tickets may request to perform community service instead, but this option must be requested in person at the court.
