LAS VEGAS — Each year, Google Trends releases real-time holiday shopping insights that offer a glimpse into what Las Vegas residents are searching for this Christmas season.
Google’s annual Holiday 100 List has been released, revealing that there are over 1 billion daily shopping queries. The data reveals that, nationally, queries for movie projectors increased by a staggering 945%, while items like red light therapy masks and weighted vests also reached all-time highs. The data suggests that more Americans are prioritizing entertainment and long-term wellness in their gift choices this year.
Alongside Google’s findings, a new national report reveals that more Las Vegas shoppers are choosing gift experiences over wrapped gifts this Christmas. The shift is largely driven by lingering debt from previous holiday spending. Experiences from spa days to weekend getaways offer more flexibility and value.
Groupon says that the top trending gift experiences in Las Vegas this year include spa packages, iconic attractions, and premium dining at the city’s many options.
“Local experiences are the engine of our growth, and Las Vegas showcases that better than almost anywhere,” says Mike Tepeli with Groupon. “Giving someone a massage, a cooking class, or a night out feels more meaningful, and often more affordable, than buying another item.”
From Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest to the Glittering Lights drive-thru at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas offers a wide range of seasonal experiences that make memorable holiday gifts.
