Las Vegas, NV – A winter storm watch has been issued for parts of California, Nevada, and Arizona, with heavy snow expected from Saturday through Tuesday.

The National Weather Service predicts snow totals between 10 and 18 inches at elevations above 7,000 feet in the Mojave Desert, Spring Mountains, and Eastern Sierra slopes. Areas above 5,000 feet could see accumulations between 3 and 8 inches, while elevations as low as 3,000 feet may experience up to 3 inches.

Travel is expected to be hazardous across key routes, including Interstate 15 through Mountain Pass, State Route 160 through Mountain Springs, and State Routes 156 and 157 near Mt. Charleston. Additional disruptions are likely along Highway 95 near Goldfield Summit and Hualapai Mountain Road in Mohave County.

Residents and travelers are urged to monitor weather updates and avoid non-essential travel. Those traveling should carry emergency kits, including tire chains, water, blankets, and flashlights.

The storm is expected to bring significant disruptions, particularly Monday morning and evening. Local officials recommend preparing for icy conditions and potential power outages in affected regions.
