LAS VEGAS — Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is expected to see a rise in travelers over the December holidays.
According to AAA, nearly 81.8 million people are expected to travel over the Thanksgiving period, setting the tone for a busy traveling period ahead of the December holidays. As a major tourist hub, the city of Las Vegas is expected to get busy, and so is the airport. In 2024, LAS set a new annual passenger record, welcoming 58,447,782 travelers to the city.
In September this year, LAS reported serving more than 4.4 million passengers, with the majority traveling domestically. TSA checkpoint numbers also reflect seasonal growth. At the beginning of November, screenings totaled 2,029,517, and by Nov. 20, 2025, that number had increased to 2,493,309.
In anticipation of the surge of travelers over the holidays, LAS has released travel advisories warning passengers of delays and advising them to arrive early and pack smart to avoid check-in delays. Last year, additional amenities were introduced to make travel through LAS smoother. This included renovated baggage-handling systems, a curbside concierge service, upgraded hold rooms, and online parking reservations.
