Lane County Search & Rescue Locates Lost Hikers Near Terwilliger Hot Springs

Lane County, OR – Two visitors became lost near Terwilliger Hot Springs last night, prompting a response from Lane County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue team. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., when the individuals, who were exploring the area by car, became disoriented on forest roads.

Search & Rescue volunteers located the visitors’ vehicle and safely guided them back to the highway. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the operation was successfully completed within hours of receiving the call.

With fall approaching, the sheriff’s office urges caution when recreating in the area. Days are shorter, and temperatures can drop rapidly in the evenings. Always inform someone of your plans and remain prepared for overnight stays if you venture into remote areas.
