According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies began investigating on October 21st after a report that Shayne Douglas Mamer, 43, had allegedly threatened a victim with a gun. Deputies determined Mamer was a convicted felon and prohibited from owning firearms.
After interviewing Mamer, deputies arrested him for menacing. A subsequent search warrant of his vehicle uncovered a pistol, ammunition, and more than 3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, leading to additional charges of unlawful use of a weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of methamphetamine.
Mamer was booked into the Lane County Jail but later released on bail. On October 24th, deputies spotted him driving in west Eugene and conducted a traffic stop. Investigators said they found additional methamphetamine and later seized more evidence from his residence following another warrant.
Mamer was again arrested and booked into jail for possession of methamphetamine.
