Dexter, Oregon – A single-vehicle crash near Barred Road led to three DUI arrests early Thursday, prompting an ongoing investigation into impaired driving.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly before 1 a.m. March 19 to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a tree in the 82000 block of Barred Road in Dexter. When deputies arrived, they observed the involved vehicle being driven again on the roadway.
Deputies contacted the occupants and identified the driver as 22-year-old Gavin Beiderwell-Goodridge, who was allegedly intoxicated. During the investigation, authorities determined that 22-year-old Emma Elizabeth Keyser had allegedly been driving when the vehicle initially went off the roadway. Keyser was also reportedly intoxicated and was taken into custody for DUI.
While deputies were still on scene investigating the crash, a third individual, 20-year-old Christian David Ramos, allegedly arrived driving a separate vehicle. Authorities said Ramos was also intoxicated, and deputies learned all three individuals had reportedly been drinking together prior to the crash.
All three drivers were arrested and charged with DUI, according to the sheriff’s office.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about impaired driving, particularly in rural roadways where visibility and response times can vary. Such cases can affect overnight commuters and late-shift workers traveling through less populated areas.
The Lane County Sheriff’s Office reminded the public to avoid driving under the influence, noting that impaired driving continues to contribute to preventable fatalities nationwide.
