Greenville, SC – Deputies are actively searching for a suspect in Landrum this morning after a reported break-in led to an altercation and gunfire.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to 301 Butter Street at approximately 6:17 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, investigators say they learned a male suspect had allegedly broken into a residence before a confrontation occurred. The suspect sustained at least one gunshot wound during the incident and then fled the scene.

Law enforcement officials are currently canvassing the surrounding area. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing 150 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Deputies caution that the man may be armed and dangerous. Residents in the Landrum area, which borders Spartanburg County and lies near the North Carolina state line, are urged to remain alert and call 911 immediately if they spot anyone matching the description.

Authorities have not released details about the homeowner’s condition or the cause of the gunfire. The investigation is ongoing, and updates are expected later today.
