Providence Township, PA – Shoppers in Lancaster County are being urged to check their bank statements after state police confirmed a credit card skimming investigation tied to a local grocery store earlier this month.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop J – Lancaster Station, the incident occurred on Friday, December 6, 2025, at BB’s Grocery Outlet on Camargo Road in Providence Township. Investigators say two unidentified suspects allegedly entered the store and attached a credit card skimming device to a cash register card reader.

Police said the suspects left the scene shortly after installing the device. Surveillance images reviewed by investigators show the pair departing in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee, believed to be a 2011 to 2013 model. No suspect descriptions have been released at this time.

State police are asking anyone who shopped at the store around the date of the incident to monitor their financial accounts closely for unauthorized transactions. Skimming devices are designed to secretly capture card data, which can later be used for fraudulent purchases or identity theft.

Anyone with information related to the suspects, vehicle, or incident is asked to contact PSP Lancaster Station at (717) 299-7650 or submit a tip anonymously through PSP Tips at 1-800-472-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/tipform.aspx?ID=107.

Police note that callers may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest, the resolution of a crime, or the location of a wanted person. PSP Tips rewards are funded through asset forfeiture, not taxpayer dollars.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say additional details may be released as the case develops.
