Lancaster County, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the theft of a U-Haul truck reported earlier this week at a storage facility in Salisbury Township, with authorities now asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect and vehicle connected to the case.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop J at the Lancaster Station, the theft occurred on Thursday, December 14, at the Gap Self Storage facility located at 845 Houston Run Road. Investigators say surveillance footage shows the suspect arriving at the scene on foot around 8:04 a.m.

Police say the suspect allegedly removed a key from inside a lockbox affixed to the exterior wall of the business before taking off with a U-Haul truck from the property. The suspect then left the area driving a 2016 Ford F-650, bearing registration AH01274.

State police reported the stolen U-Haul contained equipment number JH4764D, which was attached to multiple exterior locations on the truck and could help identify it.

Investigators also noted that another U-Haul rental location near State Street and Route 283 reported a missing truck around the same time, raising concerns the incidents may be related.

Earlier this week, police located a U-Haul truck parked in a field just west of Patriot Homes of Lincoln Highway East, though investigators have not yet confirmed whether that vehicle is directly connected to the Salisbury Township theft.
