LANCASTER, Calif. – Residents across the Antelope Valley will endure dangerously high heat through Tuesday night, with daytime highs reaching 108 degrees and little relief after sunset. In foothill areas above 3,000 feet, overnight lows are expected to stay in the 80s, creating sustained heat stress.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles, the Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for Lancaster, Palmdale, Llano, Pearblossom, and nearby communities until 9 p.m. Tuesday. Officials warn that the prolonged heat poses a high risk for heat-related illness, especially for children, older adults, outdoor workers, and those without air conditioning.

Emergency managers urge residents to limit outdoor activities to early morning or evening, wear lightweight clothing, and drink plenty of fluids. Cooling centers are open in Lancaster and Palmdale, and neighbors are encouraged to check on vulnerable individuals.

Travelers should be aware that car interiors can heat dangerously within minutes; never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.

The heat is expected to ease after Tuesday night, but additional advisories could be issued if temperatures remain above seasonal norms later in the week.
