South Bend, IN – Chilly air is spreading across Northern Indiana as cold air interacts with the warmer waters of Lake Michigan, bringing light lake-effect showers through Saturday night.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, showers will continue to move inland from the lake before tapering off late Saturday. Temperatures are expected to remain close to seasonal averages, with daytime highs ranging from the low to mid-50s and overnight lows dipping into the 30s.

Saturday will see intermittent rain with highs around 51–54°F, while conditions clear by Sunday. Sunshine is expected to return with highs reaching 53–55°F, offering a pleasant end to the weekend.

Residents along the lakeshore should anticipate brief, scattered showers and cooler breezes through Saturday night before calmer weather settles in.
