Sheboygan, WI – A wintry mix of snow and light freezing precipitation is creating slick travel conditions across parts of east-central Wisconsin Wednesday morning, particularly during the early commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. CDT Wednesday for Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Green Lake, and Marquette counties.

Communities impacted include Sheboygan, Plymouth, Fond du Lac, Berlin, Princeton, Montello, and Markesan. Forecasters expect up to 1 inch of snow along with a light glaze of ice, which could make untreated roads, bridges, and sidewalks slippery.

The mixed precipitation may create hazardous travel along key routes such as Interstate 43 near Sheboygan and U.S. Highway 151 near Fond du Lac, where drivers could encounter slick pavement during the morning hours.

Local officials urge motorists to reduce speed and allow extra stopping distance, especially where surfaces appear wet or icy. Even small ice accumulations can quickly lead to spinouts and slower travel.

Conditions should gradually improve later Wednesday as temperatures rise and precipitation tapers off, though slick spots may linger on shaded roads and sidewalks through early afternoon.
