Kenosha, WI – A Kenosha woman was saved from potentially drowning in Lake Michigan on Sunday evening by her quick-thinking brother-in-law. At 6:38 PM, the Kenosha Police Department, alongside the Kenosha Fire Department, responded to Simmons Island Beach after receiving emergency calls about a woman struggling in the water.
According to the Kenosha Police Department, the 40-year-old woman was caught in riptides and pulled into deep water. Her brother-in-law, Jesus Vidal-Cervantes, 35, bravely swam out to rescue her, bringing her safely back to shore. The woman had been in the water for over 10 minutes and was exhausted but is expected to recover fully after being treated at a local hospital.
