Chicago, Illinois – After a crisp start to the week, Chicago is on track for a steady warm-up that will push highs back into the 80s by midweek, with only a slim chance for sprinkles Tuesday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, Monday will stay sunny and mild, topping out in the mid-70s before cooler lows dip into the 40s and 50s overnight. Clouds return Tuesday with highs near 79 degrees and a brief chance of light sprinkles after dark.

By Wednesday, most of northern Illinois climbs into the low 80s, though areas along Lake Michigan will stay slightly cooler under the lake breeze. The warmest stretch arrives Thursday and Friday, when inland highs could reach 86 to 87 degrees, while Chicago’s lakefront remains several degrees cooler.

Travel and outdoor plans should face little disruption, with dry roads and generally clear skies expected after Tuesday night. Residents planning evening activities should bring a light jacket early in the week but prepare for warmer, more summer-like evenings by Thursday.

The National Weather Service notes that the region remains in a quiet weather pattern through the end of the week, with no major storms on the horizon.
