Lake Forest, IL — A key Lake Forest intersection will be closed for a week starting Monday, March 24, as part of a major streetscape construction project.
According to the City of Lake Forest, a full closure of Deerpath Road from Bank Lane to Western Avenue, including the Deerpath and Western intersection, is scheduled through the morning of Monday, March 31. The work will allow for a critical watermain connection to be completed during Spring Break to reduce traffic disruptions.
Pedestrian and business access will remain open during the closure, which also impacts traffic near City Hall and Market Square. Detour signage has been posted to redirect one-way and two-way traffic routes.
NorthShore Gas will also conduct work in the area during the closure as part of future streetscape enhancements planned for May.
Officials expect the road to reopen before school resumes on March 31. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes and follow posted detours.
