Lake Forest Homeowner Alerts Police, Leading to Burglary Arrest

Lake Forest, Illinois – A quick-thinking homeowner helped Lake Forest Police arrest 19-year-old Henry T. Williams of Waukegan on October 21, 2024, after reportedly catching him in their garage.

According to police reports it began Monday around 3:45 p.m., when the homeowner on East Franklin Place reportedly discovered Williams inside their vehicle parked in the garage. The suspect fled on foot when confronted. The homeowner immediately called the police, providing crucial details. Officers quickly responded and reportedly found Williams hiding near the Robert McClory Bike Path, at McKinley and Woodland Roads.

Following a brief foot chase, Williams was taken into custody on Western Avenue. The homeowner identified Williams as the man they reportedly found inside their garage. Further investigation revealed Williams had anll entered at least two vehicles in the area. Highland Park Police also linked him to a similar burglary they investigated the previous week.

Williams now faces multiple felony charges, including burglary to a motor vehicle and a building. After appearing in court on October 22, he was released under pretrial conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 10, 2024.
