Cleveland, OH – Strong southwest winds are expected to sweep across northern Ohio today as a cold front moves through the region, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.
Forecasters say wind gusts will reach 35 to 45 miles per hour between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, especially near Lake Erie and across north-central Ohio counties. The gusty conditions may cause loose outdoor items or decorations to blow around, and small tree limbs could be knocked down in exposed areas.
While no widespread damage is expected, the NWS urges residents to secure outdoor holiday displays, garbage bins, and lightweight furniture ahead of the strongest winds. Motorists driving high-profile vehicles should also use caution on east–west highways.
Temperatures will turn cooler behind the front later today, with skies gradually clearing by evening.
