Green Bay, WI – Clouds will build across Wisconsin today ahead of a late-evening round of rain that could transition to snow by the weekend, according to the U.S. National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Forecasters expect quiet and partly cloudy conditions through most of Thursday, with highs between 46 and 53 degrees. Scattered rain showers will move in late this evening into early Friday morning, particularly across inland and northern areas. “Quiet conditions then return for most of the inland areas Friday, but some ongoing precipitation is possible in the far north,” meteorologists reported early Thursday.

By Saturday, a stronger system is expected to bring widespread rain changing to snow. While most of central and southern Wisconsin will see little accumulation, northern parts of the state—especially near the Upper Peninsula border and the Lake Michigan shoreline—could pick up their first couple inches of snow by Sunday morning.

Temperatures will fall through the weekend, with highs in the 30s and lows dipping into the 20s by Sunday night. A few lingering flurries could persist into early next week.

Travelers across northern Wisconsin should be alert for changing road conditions Saturday evening into Sunday, particularly in lake-effect zones.
