Lake County Traffic Alert: Fatal Hit-and-Run in Beach Park Under Investigation Today

Beach Park, IL – A 19-year-old motorcycle rider was killed early Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Beach Park, prompting a criminal investigation by local authorities.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 5:50 a.m. to a report of a motorcycle and rider down near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Sallmon Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the motorcyclist deceased at the scene, with the Kawasaki sports bike showing signs of impact damage believed to be caused by another vehicle.

The vehicle involved allegedly fled the scene before deputies arrived.

The Lake County Coroner’s Office is in the process of scheduling an autopsy to determine the official cause of death. Meanwhile, the Lake County Sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Team is actively pursuing leads in what officials are calling a criminal hit-and-run case.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased rider. No suspect vehicle description has been provided as of Sunday morning.
