Cedar Lake, IN – The Lake County Indiana Health Department announced that Geminus Head Start will be a featured vendor at the upcoming Community Health & Resource Fair on August 2, 2025, at Hanover Central High School in Cedar Lake.
Geminus Head Start, serving Lake and Porter Counties since 1997, provides federally funded early childhood education and family support programs. Each year, the organization supports about 2,000 children and families across the region, including in Crown Point, Valparaiso, Gary, and Hammond.
Programs offered include:
- Prenatal support for pregnant mothers
- Early Head Start for infants and toddlers (birth to age 3)
- Head Start for preschoolers (ages 3–5)
Services go beyond academics, offering family support, health screenings, nutrition, and special education. The organization is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, underscoring its commitment to quality.
