Lake County, IL – Sheriff’s detectives arrested a school paraprofessional after discovering an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student.

On February 3, authorities were alerted about a boy under 16 driving alone. A voice in a video from the car matched Sandra J. Pardo, 38, a paraprofessional at Cyd Lash Academy.

Deputies investigated and found Pardo had spent time with the boy outside school. Detectives later determined she had engaged in inappropriate conduct, including kissing him at school last month and giving him a massage last week.

Pardo was arrested Monday. The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges, including aggravated battery, child endangerment, and solicitation to meet a child.

Sheriff John D. Idleburg condemned the behavior, emphasizing the right of students to feel safe. Prosecutors plan to seek her detention until trial.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may follow. Pardo is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
