Crown Point, IN – A Griffith man is facing serious allegations in Lake County after authorities reportedly charged him with five counts of possessing child sexual abuse material, following an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the U.S. Secret Service.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Brian C. Sadowski, 56, was taken into police custody on Thursday, July 10. Authorities allege that charges were formally filed the following day in Lake County Superior Court after an extensive multi-agency investigation involving the Indiana State Police, Griffith Police Department, and the U.S. Secret Service.
Investigators allege Sadowski downloaded and viewed thousands of files containing suspected child sexual abuse material between February 25 and July 9, 2025. Officials claim that, on one occasion, Sadowski downloaded over 9,000 files from a website allegedly used to share illegal content. During interviews, Sadowski allegedly admitted to downloading the material for personal use, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities reported that Sadowski expressed remorse during questioning, telling investigators he “made a mistake” and acknowledged looking at material he “shouldn’t have looked at.” He also allegedly issued an apology letter referencing accountability for his actions, but did not offer excuses for his behavior.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which includes federal, state, and local agencies, continues to investigate crimes of this nature throughout Indiana.
Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
