Crown Point, IN – The Crown Point Police received a report early this morning about a body found in a pond within the Ellendale Farm subdivision. Authorities are currently working to identify the deceased, with assistance from the Lake County Coroner’s Office and family members.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, law enforcement is investigating whether the body is connected to the ongoing search for a missing dementia patient last seen in the Crown Point area on Tuesday. The missing person was reported on August 6th, raising concerns within the community.
Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved at this difficult time.” The discovery has left the local community in shock, as they await further details on the individual’s identity and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
