Lake County, IN – A Lake County teen was arrested Friday for making a school shooting threat on social media, leading to a swift police response. The Highland Police Department was contacted by an out-of-state agency around 12:45 p.m. regarding the threat, which involved Highland High School.

Highland detectives immediately identified the suspect as a current student at the school. The teen was brought to the Highland Police Department for questioning, where, in the presence of a parent, the juvenile admitted to making the threat.

The student has been charged with felony intimidation and was taken to the Lake County Juvenile Center in Crown Point, Indiana. Authorities acted quickly to investigate the threat, ensuring no immediate danger to the school community.
