Lake County, IN – A 32-year-old Hammond man is facing multiple felony charges after a months-long investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Unit allegedly uncovered evidence of child solicitation and possession of child pornography.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Colin Dwyer-Keon allegedly enticed a teenage boy to perform sexual acts between June and July 2024 after offering him work at his bounce house and party rental company. Investigators say the suspect later groomed the victim and encouraged sexually explicit “Truth or Dare” games.
Detectives allege the incidents occurred at several locations, including the suspect’s home, a hotel, and a storage facility. Officials say Dwyer-Keon also recorded explicit videos involving the minor.
During a search warrant, the department’s Special Victims Unit reportedly discovered more than a dozen sexually explicit images involving children on the suspect’s phone. Authorities allege the material included images of children under 12 years old.
Dwyer-Keon, who previously worked in law enforcement and was most recently employed at Purdue University Northwest and the Schneider, Indiana Police Department, surrendered at the Lake County Jail on Wednesday. He is being held without bond, and his initial court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. called the case “appalling” and commended investigators for their persistence, adding that anyone who may have been victimized should contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Unit.
