According to the coroner’s office, a Medicolegal Death Investigation team was dispatched at approximately 10:50 p.m. Tuesday to the roadway near 6969 East 97th Avenue in Crown Point after reports of a serious crash. The individual was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
The deceased has been identified as Shaun M. Watta, 24, a resident of Crown Point. Family members positively identified him at the Lake County Coroner’s Office, officials said.
