Further investigation uncovered alleged statements and evidence of domestic violence. Officers said K9 Skye alerted to the presence of narcotics, leading to a search of the vehicle. Police recovered a machete that was allegedly used to threaten the woman and a locked safe. According to investigators, suspected heroin was later found inside the safe, which was searched under a warrant.

Saporito was charged with aggravated unlawful restraint, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, two counts of domestic battery, and improper display of registration. Additional charges for possession of a controlled substance are anticipated pending laboratory analysis.
