Lake County, IL – Teens Assault Deputies During Domestic Battery Arrest

Antioch, IL – A confrontation escalated into violence as two teenagers assaulted Lake County Sheriff’s deputies on January 28, 2024. The incident, taking place in the 25000 block of Grass Lake Road, Antioch at around 3:30 p.m., began as a response to a domestic battery report.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the situation intensified when a 17-year-old male, allegedly involved in the battery, resisted arrest. He reportedly bit and punched the deputies. Concurrently, a 17-year-old female interfered with the arrest, attempting to grab a deputy’s equipment. Both teens were eventually subdued and taken into custody.

The male teen faces charges including Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer and Aggravated Domestic Battery, while charges against the female are pending. Despite the violent scuffle, no deputies were injured.
