Mundelein, IL – A road rage altercation in Mundelein left one man hospitalized Thursday night following a stabbing near Route 176 and Joice Lane, according to police.

The Mundelein Police Department said officers responded around 7:27 p.m. on October 29 to find a 57-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his chest. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

According to Chief Jason Seeley, the incident allegedly began as a driving dispute before escalating into violence. The victim was able to provide a description of the suspect and vehicle that fled the scene.

Detectives later identified and located a 59-year-old Mundelein man, who was taken into custody without incident. Police say the case remains under investigation and that criminal charges are pending.
