Gurnee, IL – A woman from Wisconsin faces multiple felony charges after a targeted, domestic-related shooting outside a Gurnee hotel near Grand Avenue and I-94, according to the Gurnee Police Department.

The incident occurred on the evening of November 27, 2025, and investigators determined it began as a domestic dispute in another community before the couple briefly stopped in Gurnee.

Police say they were first notified of possible evidence of a shooting on November 28 around 11:53 a.m., when officers discovered signs of gunfire in the hotel driveway. Surveillance footage reportedly showed a dark-colored van arriving at the hotel entrance around 9:44 p.m. A woman allegedly exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots at a man, striking him in the leg before both returned to the van and left the scene.

Detectives later learned that a gunshot victim had arrived at a nearby hospital. Officers located both individuals, and the woman, identified as Angela M. Mack, 40, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, was taken into custody.

Following interviews and further investigation, police determined the shooting stemmed from a domestic argument between the pair. Mack was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Class X Felony), Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony), and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony).

Authorities emphasized that this was an isolated incident between two individuals who knew each other and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
