Round Lake Beach, IL – An arrest warrant has been issued for a 19-year-old suspect after a hit-and-run incident involving alleged illegal street racing left a local resident injured over the weekend.
According to a statement released Monday by the Round Lake Beach Police Department, the incident occurred Saturday in the 1200 block of Lotus Drive. Authorities said a 57-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after confronting two vehicles reportedly involved in illegal street racing. The suspect, identified as Nathien X. Guerra, now allegedly faces felony charges including Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, Failure to Remain at the Scene, and Aggravated Battery.
Police said detectives were able to identify and locate a red Chevrolet pickup truck believed to be connected to the hit-and-run. The vehicle has since been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
Guerra is currently the subject of an active arrest warrant, and law enforcement officials are working to locate and take him into custody.
“This type of reckless criminal behavior, often associated with unsanctioned car clubs, will not be tolerated in Round Lake Beach,” Police Chief Ryan Rodriguez said in a public statement. He added that officers are “committed to strictly enforcing all laws related to illegal car club gatherings and reckless driving,” including the impoundment of any vehicle involved in such activity.
The investigation remains active as authorities seek additional information regarding the incident.
