Libertyville, IL – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Sunday evening following a collision with an SUV on North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville.
According to the Libertyville Police Department, the crash occurred around 5:44 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2025, in the 1300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue near the McDonald’s at 1330 North Milwaukee. Police said the motorcycle was traveling northbound in the curbside lane when it collided with an SUV exiting the restaurant.
The Libertyville Fire Department transported the motorcyclist to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical injuries. Police confirmed the SUV’s occupants were not injured.
North Milwaukee Avenue was shut down while emergency crews worked the scene, and traffic was diverted around the area.
The crash remains under investigation by the Libertyville Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team. Authorities said the cause of the collision has not yet been determined. A follow-up press release is expected when more details are available.
