Beach Park, IL – A fatal motorcycle crash in Beach Park claimed the life of a 56-year-old local man on Thursday night. The collision occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Green Bay Road near Aviation Drive, involving a motorcycle and a 2022 Kia Rio.
Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene and discovered the motorcyclist had suffered fatal injuries. According to authorities, the motorcyclist was riding a 2007 Suzuki GSXR600 southbound at an excessive speed when a 28-year-old driver in a Kia, also from Beach Park, made a left turn from northbound Green Bay Road onto westbound Chaplin Street. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Kia, throwing the motorcyclist from his vehicle.
The driver and a 23-year-old passenger in the Kia were unharmed in the incident. The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
