Wauconda, IL – A 39-year-old Arlington Heights man died after being struck by a vehicle in unincorporated Wauconda.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday near Route 12 and Old Rand Road. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find the pedestrian critically injured. Despite regaining a pulse after CPR, he was pronounced dead at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate the pedestrian was crossing Route 12 when he was hit by a northbound Toyota Camry driven by a 68-year-old McHenry man, who was uninjured. The Lake County Coroner’s Office plans an autopsy, and the Sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Team continues to investigate.
