Eustis, FL – A late-night traffic stop in Lake County led to a drug trafficking arrest after deputies say a man was caught riding an unregistered dirt bike while carrying methamphetamine.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Circle K parking lot in Eustis. Deputies reported that Gerald Slaseman, the driver of the dirt bike, did not have a valid license or registration. Investigators said the vehicle itself was also not registered.

When deputies searched Slaseman, they allegedly found a clear plastic bag containing about 26 grams of methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and a breath mint box holding less than 1 gram of meth. Authorities say Slaseman was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail.

Slaseman now faces multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine over 14 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license (third offense), and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office did not report any injuries connected to the arrest.
