Eustis, FL – Lake County will open a cold-weather shelter Monday, Nov. 10, to help protect residents from freezing overnight temperatures, officials announced Sunday.

According to Lake County Emergency Management, the shelter will open at 5 p.m. Monday at LifePointe Church, 3551 E. Orange Avenue in Eustis. The county will determine how long the facility remains open based on weather conditions and will issue updates as needed.

Free transportation will be provided by Lake County Transit through LakeXpress fixed routes, Lake County Connection paratransit service, and a cold-weather shuttle. Residents using LakeXpress can ride free by informing drivers they are traveling from or to a cold-weather shelter.

Evening shuttle service begins at 3:20 p.m. from the Salvation Army in Leesburg, with additional pickups at the Citizens Transfer Center, Ardice Transfer Center, and Clermont Park and Ride before the final stop at LifePointe Church around 6:50 p.m.

Morning return trips will start at 7 a.m. Tuesday from LifePointe Church, with stops at The Open Door, Ardice Transfer Center, Citizens Transfer Center, Salvation Army, and Clermont Park and Ride.
