Lake Charles, LA – The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Small Craft Advisory for offshore and nearshore Gulf waters from 3 a.m. to noon Sunday as a cold front sweeps through the region.
According to the NWS, north winds between 15 and 25 knots and seas of 4 to 6 feet are expected across the west and central coastal waters near Cameron, Beaumont, and Vermilion Bay. Boaters are urged to remain in port and exercise caution if venturing out early Sunday morning.
Forecasters say the cold front will bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Saturday afternoon and evening before cooler, drier air moves in overnight. Temperatures Sunday will range from the mid-60s to low 70s with clear skies and lighter winds by afternoon.
The extended outlook shows sunny, mild weather continuing through midweek, with highs gradually warming into the upper 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s.
