LAKE CHARLES, La. — Southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana are starting the workweek on the cool side Monday, but a steady warming trend is expected to bring springlike temperatures and increasing rain chances by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles.
Monday will feature partly sunny skies with afternoon highs ranging from 46 to 53 degrees, well below the temperatures expected later in the week. Northeasterly winds of 5 to 10 mph will keep conditions feeling brisk, while dry weather is expected to continue through the day and into the night. Overnight lows will dip into the upper 20s to mid-30s, marking the coldest night of the forecast period.
By Tuesday, temperatures will rebound noticeably, with highs climbing into the mid-50s to low 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will turn more easterly and remain light, helping set the stage for a warmer midweek pattern. Tuesday night lows will range from the low 40s to low 50s.
Wednesday brings a more pronounced warm-up, with highs reaching the upper 60s to low 70s across much of the region. A 20% chance of precipitation is forecast as southeasterly winds draw in warmer, more humid air from the Gulf.
The warmest day of the week is expected Thursday, when highs climb to 74–78 degrees. Rain chances increase to 20–40%, with scattered showers possible both on land and over coastal waters. Forecasters note that winds and seas may become locally higher near thunderstorms.
By Friday, conditions dry out again as highs settle back into the low to mid-60s, offering a calmer end to the workweek.
Marine conditions will remain generally manageable early in the week, with seas ranging from 1 to 4 feet, though boaters are urged to monitor forecasts closely as rain chances and winds increase midweek.
