Lake Charles, La. – Residents across southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana are starting the week with cool mornings, clear skies, and highs in the 80s, but conditions will quickly shift toward hotter afternoons as the week progresses. By Friday, many areas will climb into the mid-90s, making hydration and sun protection essential.
According to the National Weather Service in Lake Charles, Monday morning brought northerly winds at 10 to 15 mph, keeping humidity lower and conditions comfortable. However, by Tuesday, highs will push near 90 degrees with only a slim chance of a passing shower, and temperatures will continue to rise through Friday.
For marine conditions, a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until noon Monday. Winds of 20 to 25 knots with gusts near 30 knots are creating seas up to 6 feet from the Lower Atchafalaya River to Intracoastal City, La. Boaters in small vessels are advised to avoid navigating until conditions ease later today.
Cities including Lake Charles, Lafayette, and Beaumont will see daily sunshine, minimal rain chances, and steadily warming temperatures. Inland communities should take advantage of the cooler evenings, which will hold in the 60s through midweek before gradually warming at night as well.
Dry weather dominates the forecast, with no widespread rain expected through the weekend.
