Lake Charles, Louisiana – A steady warming trend will push temperatures into the upper 70s and low 80s across southwest Louisiana through the end of the week.

According to the US National Weather Service in Lake Charles, high pressure will remain in control, keeping conditions calm and dry while temperatures gradually rise each day.

Monday highs are forecast in the upper 60s to lower 70s across much of the region, including Lake Charles, Lafayette, Alexandria, and Beaumont. By midweek, afternoon temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 70s, with several communities approaching or reaching 80 degrees.

Forecast highs Wednesday and Thursday include near 79 degrees in Alexandria, 78 to 81 degrees in Lafayette, 79 degrees in Jennings, and around 80 degrees in Beaumont and Lake Charles. Overnight lows will also trend warmer than average, ranging from the upper 40s early in the week to the lower and mid-60s by Thursday and Friday.

Dry weather is expected to persist, with no significant rain chances in the immediate forecast. Light winds and mostly clear to partly cloudy skies will dominate through Friday.

Drivers along Interstate 10, Interstate 49, and US-165 should not expect major weather-related travel disruptions, though warmer afternoons may increase traffic as outdoor activity rises.

The above-average warmth may be noticeable for students, outdoor workers, and commuters during afternoon peak hours.

Residents are encouraged to stay hydrated and monitor updated forecasts as temperatures continue their gradual climb later this week.
