Lake Charles, Louisiana – Mild temperatures and dry conditions are expected for Mardi Gras celebrations Tuesday across Southwest Louisiana.

According to the US National Weather Service in Lake Charles, patchy fog may develop early Tuesday morning before skies turn partly sunny and mild through the afternoon. No rainfall is expected during peak parade and festival hours.

Morning temperatures around 8 a.m. are forecast between 53 and 58 degrees, with light southeast winds under 5 mph. By noon, highs will climb into the mid to upper 60s, reaching near 70 degrees in Lake Charles along Interstate 10, Lafayette near Interstate 49, and Beaumont along I-10 in Southeast Texas.

Afternoon winds are expected from the south-southeast at 10 to 15 mph, creating a light breeze but no significant weather hazards. By 8 p.m., temperatures will ease back into the lower 60s with continued dry conditions.

The broader five-day outlook shows temperatures gradually increasing into the upper 70s and low 80s by Thursday and Friday, with rain chances remaining below 30% through the end of the workweek. A slightly higher rain chance, between 30% and 40%, may develop by Saturday.

For Mardi Gras events across Lake Charles, Crowley, Opelousas, and surrounding communities near US-90 and I-49, weather conditions are expected to remain favorable.

Parade-goers, vendors, and evening commuters should remain aware of patchy morning fog but can expect comfortable afternoon conditions.
